Rod Style LDT
Rod Style Linear Transducers play an important role in providing positional feedback, they are proximately used with hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders to report their position back to the host controller. They are designed to be inserted into a cylinder and are capable of withstanding the high pressures associated with hydraulic cylinders.
953 VMax Series Linear Position Sensor
The Gemco 953 Series VMAX Linear Displacement Transducer (LDT) is a linear position sensor developed to meet the most demanding processing challenges, regardless of application or operating environment.
The highly versatile VMAX offers absolute accuracy and reliability with high resolution and precision repeatability. The VMAX is resistant to contaminants and environmental conditions and is IP68 rated. Its rugged and durable mill duty construction exceeds competitive offerings, and its vibration resistance is lab tested at 30 Gs and shock resistance is lab tested at 1000 Gs.
This linear position sensor is easy to install and set up and features the latest generation of Magnetostrictive position-sensing technology with automatic gain circuitry. Rotating Cam Limit Switch

1980 Series Rotating Cam Limit Switch
When motion is expressed in shaft rotation, either thru a roller chain, gear train, or directly, the 1980 Series Rotating Cam Limit Switch makes it possible to open or close independent circuits at any desired angular positions.

7330 Series Pro-Stik II
The 7330 Pro-Stik II Series are intrinsically safe programmable liniear position sensors ideal for monitoring in a variety of liquids and tanks.
These position sensors are based on the proven magnetostrictive technology and are available in different models including our popular explosion proof and flame proof models.
The 7330 Pro-Stik II position sensor is loop powered and available with a rigid 316 stainless steel or flexible PVDF material. It has a security feature by utilizing a timing sequence that is used to unlock the probe for programming. This ensures that the span cannot be accidentally programmed by someone in the field.
All of the electronics are SMT components integrated into the 5/8″ diameter sensing tube offering greater options for insertion and mounting in tanks and vessels.
A variety of floats and mounting accessories are available to fit virtually any application.

Motogard Over-Temperature Protection Systems provide immediate overheating protection for: motors, equipment enclosures, semiconductor heat sinks, sleeve bearings, and other related machinery. Using Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors embedded in or in contact with the surface, the Motogard system is able to continually sense when the equipment exceeds the pre-selected temperature limit.
Motogard Control Relay
All Motogard systems fully conform to the NEC requirements for integral motor thermal protection. The temperature inside of the motor is monitored at all times. Using Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Thermistors embedded in or in contact with the surface, the Motogard system is able to continually sense when the equipment exceeds the pre-selected temperature limits.
Motogard systems are recommended for applications requiring high reliability under conditions of heavy duty or severe ambient contamination. Minimum RFI interference, absence of arcing, and maintenance free long life are built into the Motogard systems.
The Motogard Over-Temperature Protection System uses PTC Thermistors to indicate when the equipment has exceeded the set temperature. These thermistors act as a switch, which when reaching the pre-selected temperature will cause the resistance to increase to virtually infinity. This causes the controller to change the state of the contacts. As the equipment cools the “switching action” reverses and the controller will then change the state of the contacts back indicating an “OK” circumstance.

Electro-Thrust Industrial Brakes
The Electro-Thrust Series Shoe Brakes have AISE sizes range from 8″ in diameter up to 30″ diameter wheels. Torque values range from 100 foot-pounds to 9,000 ft./lbs.
The brakes are spring set for fail-safe operation with an electro-hydraulic actuator that overcomes a setting spring and releases the brake. The actuator is stroked by means of applying power, either AC or DC, to an integral motor attached to a twin cavity housing. The housing is filled with fluid and as the motor spins it creates fluid motion. As the fluid travels through the housing it applies upward pressure to a piston that overcomes the setting spring to release the brake.
Cutting power to the motor reverses this function and the spring then gently sets the brake. This inherent cushion effect is desirable for many brake applications.
Rugged construction makes this brake suitable for steel mill cranes, container cranes, stacker reclaimers, lock and dam gates, and other heavy-duty applications.

Catrac is used on various types of machinery as a means of safety and efficiently conveying power, electrical, air, or fluid (or a combination of these) to equipment in motion. Catrac is designed to be maintenance free and to protect cables and hoses from abrasion, wear and twisting. A wide variety of options are available.
Our vast line up of standards will allow you to select the optimum Catrac cable carrier or Catrac hose carrier to suit your specific needs. Link heights from 2” for lighter duty applications through 14” for larger industrial type applications are available, as well as a huge array of bending radii and widths. Custom designs are a specialty. Catrac cable and hose carriers are manufactured from 80,000 psi hi-tensile strength steel links with #12 gauge and #10 gauge link plates being the standard.
Each articulating joint consists of a hardened link pin with retaining ring or with hardened shoulder bolts and nylon locking nuts for those more rigorous applications. All parts are zinc plated with a yellow trivalent chromate dip for added corrosion resistance. Other materials of construction such as aluminum, stainless steel and Nylon are available.
We also offer a line of Mill Duty Catracs that are used in rugged applications and environments such as steel mills. They offer a box beam type carrier for maximum strength and stability. Spring loaded rods offer the customer easy access to cables and hoses. They also eliminate the concern of fitting sizes that must pass through the (fixed) compartment opening on a box beam style carrier. Hardened shoulder bolts and locknuts are recommended for use in rugged environments. Catrac is manufactured so that pieces or sections can be removed or replaced in the field.

Programmable Limit Switch (PLS)
The Gemco Programmable Limit Switches (PLS’s) are used in a variety of applications from packaging and stamping to every day factory automation. In the Heavy Moveable Structure Industry, they can typically be found in Rail and Draw Bridge Control Houses. These devices are typically found in applications where the PLC scan time cannot keep up with the process. In many cases, the end user is looking for a simple interface that can be adapted to their machine without having to buy the PLC, HMI, and programming software but then have to struggle to write their own ladder logic.
2500 Series High Speed
The Gemco 2500 Series PLS is a high-speed resolver based Programmable Limit Switch that monitors rotary machine position and provides discrete limit switch outputs. These outputs are updated at a much faster rate than can be accomplished using any conventional PLC. The 2500 Series uses a unique easy to understand programming sequence. The traditional number buttons have been replaced with a rotary knob and the main controller has a 2 x 24 vacuum fluorescent display along with four push-button keys for programming.
The 2500 Series is a family of PLS’s that offers unparalleled flexibility. The main controller is resolver-based and consists of 8 isolated DC inputs and 8 isolated output relays, one fault check output relay and one optional brake monitor input relay.
This unit can be used with our 1986 Series Resolver Assembly.

The 1999 Semelex Series is a self-contained, portable, multi-purpose diagnostic system for press room automation and operator safety device analysis. It features Quick Calculation, with absolute accuracy, machinery stopping time and determines the minimum safe distance for safety devices including light curtains, palm buttons, safety mat and foot controls.
The Gemco 1999 Semelex II Safetimeter test set is field proven to accurately measure stop time and safety distance to verify compliance with federal and state requirements. It is designed for harsh industrial environments, and is portable, light weight, and easy to use.
The 1999 Semelex II Safetimeter is a self-contained, portable electronic stop time meter capable of measuring elapsed time, stop time (Ts) from 1-9999 milliseconds. It also calculates the minimum safety distance (Ds) based on the OSHA formula, as understood by the factory, and will display up to 999.9″ to the nearest 0.1″.
It is the same unit OSHA uses when they perform tests in your facility.
